MY GUIDE TO STARTING FROM SCRATCH

So, you are are looking to change your life? Lose fat? Tone up? Build muscle? Get fit?

These goals are perfect, but they can be overwhelming and you might find yourself asking ‘where do I even begin?I?’

Do I want to train with a local trainer? Do I like HIIT or LISS, do I need to do either? Do I want to join a gym? Which gym should I join?

All I want to do is lose weight and feel good about myself!!! Help!!!

I hear you, I have helped so many girls who have started with all of these questions. Today, I want to break it all down and provide you with a guide for how to find the right support to help you change your life for the better and FOR GOOD!

Let’s start at the most important question to ask

What is your greater reason why?

Before you even think about choosing a trainer or program I want you to ask yourself one thing: What is your greater reason why? Making this change could be for any number of reasons, but I need you to always come back to this one, fundamental force that drives you.

Maybe you want to fit into a particular dress or feel confident at the gym? Your goal could be to simply love who you are a little more, or maybe increase your strength or fitness. You could be looking forward to looking your best on a holiday or special occasion. Or maybe you want to be the best version of yourself so you can lead those around you by example, so you can be a proud mother, sibling, daughter, partner, the list goes on!

Whatever the reason is, that is your unique WHY, and it is your source of power, the force that gets you out of bed in the morning, pushing you to do more each day, and ultimately become the person you always dreamed of. So when you are picking a program, the first step is to look deep inside and identify that one thing that aligns with your greater purpose. There is no point working with someone who does not understand, respect and harness the power of your why! You want to be apart of a program where you are constantly thinking “yes, they get it”!

Once you have discovered your why, it is then time to decide what approach you will take to get to your end goal. There are an abundance of options out there, and it might take trying a few different methods to find the right fit for you! My advice is to equip yourself with the right tools to begin with. Get a gym membership where you feel comfortable in the space, or purchase equipment to train at home, or attend group fitness classes, or get a PT or an online trainer, and employee a nutritionist or dietitian. Why are you drawn to the program in the first place?

Emotional connection is one of the driving forces to achieving greatness in life. As soon as you make a bond with something, or someone you are passionate about, you will be unstoppable! So, if you find someone on social media, or locally, and you instantly connect with their message, then this is an amazing starting point! There are many incredibly unique trainers available in this market, find a voice that connects instantly with you!

My message?

To empower women to become the strongest and most powerful individuals they can be.

To have faith in their ability and always strive towards becoming a better version of themselves.

To learn the presence of mind to show yourself grace when it is needed.

To have the knowledge, understanding and self-awareness to create the body of their dreams.

For each woman to embrace their uniqueness and love their bodies just the way they are.


What is in the program being offered?

It is really simple girls. Nutrition and training must work together in synergy. You cannot get results without the two working together. If you are knowledgeable when it comes to training you may need a hand with your nutrition, and vise versa. If you have a lot to learn in both areas, then the best approach is to Invest in a program that combines the two! Start off your new regime in the right way,with a structure that is going to support your training as well as your diet! There is no point killing yourself in the gym without appropriate nutrition to support it. Chances are high you won’t get results, you’ll get frustrated and give up quickly!

How to pick the style of training?

Don’t pick a style of training that you hate... I know this might sound a little obvious, but you would be surprised how many people are sucked into this trap! One of the keys to being successful in a program is picking a form of training that you LOVE. You want to feel exhilarated after each session, push your boundaries, be excited (and a little nervous) to go into each session and know you can commit to the time period allocated. When you find a form of exercise that you love, it becomes so easy!

Start looking for things that light you up. For my #LSFbabes it is strength training 110%. The girls love the feeling of progressing, seeing how their bodies and mindsets transform and how their bodies lean, lengthen and tone!

Is there a community? Do you have accountability?

There are so many forms of accountability available (I’ll leave this full chat to another time). But one of the greatest forms of accountability is having a team of cheerleaders that are going to support you every step of the way! You want to be apart of a community that is all heading to the same finish line as you! People who be there for you on your dark days, and support you on your champion days! Who inspire you to get up off the couch, to meal prep like a boss and to NEVER GIVE UP!

I can so proudly say that my #LSFbabes are that and so much more. They are almost an accountability buddy for me as well! Whenever I jump onto the LSF forums I am reminded of how incredibly supportive people can truly be!
