My journey is a little different to the ‘lose weight and get fit’ transformation story. I’m not someone who has ever been overweight… in fact I was the extreme opposite!

I was skinny, constantly exhausted and had an obsession with body image and being lean. This eventually took a massive toll on my health, but I found a way to break through the unhealthy mental and physical habits I had formed.

My transformation is from being skinny, unhappy and unhealthy to being strong, confident and full of life!

I am an Australian fitness model, professional bikini competitor, brand ambassador and sponsored EHPlabs and Muscle Republic athlete who lives and breathes a healthy and active lifestyle. My personal experiences of overhauling my lifestyle has driven me to inspire and help others to do the same - no matter what your starting point is.



THE OLD ME

I have always led a very active lifestyle and played representative netball and touch football growing up. I have had a gym membership for as long as I can remember, and always loved challenging myself with group fitness classes.

My own personal health and fitness journey has certainly had its ups and downs. I was once very underweight, unhealthy and running myself into the ground with hours of cardio and poor nutritional choices. I was very uneducated about the importance of food as fuel for your body, and my health paid for it.

In the gym, I was a cardio bunny, and avoided lifting weights for fear of getting ‘bulky’ - and let’s be honest - it’s quite intimidating walking into a room full of males and not knowing how to use the equipment!

I started to research various exercise techniques and ways to weight train, and finally built some confidence to get into the weights room. However, this soon also became an unhealthy obsession!


I spent hours training, became anxious if I couldn’t go twice a day, and completely let my training dictate my mood for the rest of the day. At the time, I didn’t recognise it but I had an extremely distorted view of my body and an even worse attitude towards food. I restricted myself with food groups and calories, and slowly this started to impact on not only my health, but also on my personal relationships with friends and family.

I was lethargic, moody, and withdrawn - this wasn’t who I wanted to be!



LETTING IT GO

The first thing I needed to change was my mindset. I had to completely let go of all my mental hang ups with diet and exercise, and let go of being caught up on how lean I was, or how many calories I was consuming each day.

In order to change these dangerously bad habits, I knew I needed help. I sought out a coach who educated me on how to have a healthy relationship with food and training. I found out that I was not eating nearly the amount that I should be, and as a result my metabolism and hormones were in a state of damage.

At this point, I set an ultimate goal for myself - to prep for and enter a fitness competition!

I began seeing the positive effects of eating to nourish and fuel my body, and not overtraining. I was no longer moody, constantly fatigued, having random headaches and feeling weak in general. I learnt that health and fitness shouldn’t be about punishing yourself to a point where you are unhappy.

Everyday, I still aspire to be fit and strong, but most importantly I’ve learnt to put my health, happiness, friends and family as my first priority.


THE NEW ME

I turned what was an unhealthy obsession with appearance and weight into a healthy passion for bodybuilding. I went on to compete in the 2015 INBA Sydney Super Bodies show and the INBA Southern Cross Championships where I was awarded 1st place Fitness Model Open and Fitness Model Overall Champion. In 2016, I flew to London and achieved one of my biggest fitness goals… I was crowned WBFF European Pro-Bikini Champion!

I have a newfound love for lifting heavy - having the strength to squat and deadlift over double my bodyweight is very empowering! I live by a healthy, wholesome diet, work hard in the gym but also recognise the importance of rest and balance in life.

I cannot wait to start the next chapter of my life to share my knowledge with, and be able to help transform many girls’ lives all over the world.
